Meet Emerson

Hi. Thanks for being here – my name is Emerson, but my friends call me Em. I live in NE Bend with my husband and nine year old daughter. I love this community and I am honored to serve this beautiful place we call home.

I’ve learned a lot of lessons serving in the Oregon House of Representatives but the most important lesson is that we have a lot more in common than we have apart. Most issues aren’t right or left issues, they are human issues, family issues, like housing, fixing our roads and making sure we have thriving schools and aging parents and community members have a safe place to grow old.

Growing up, my family life was often uncertain. Sometimes we didn’t know where we would get our next meal and we found ourselves having to rely on the community. With a Pell Grant, I was able to get the support and education I needed for a pathway to success. I know what it’s like for bad public policy to hold you back, and I know how good public policy can lift you up and change your life. Every Oregonian deserves that opportunity for security and success.

Whether its housing, community safety, clean energy, or the cost of prescription drugs, I have fought for our district. I know times are hard and costs are rising for Oregon families and I center working families and seniors in every vote I take.

I love this community. I work for everyone who lives here, regardless of who you vote for. I don’t believe in big or small government. I believe in government that works.

Let’s continue the good work – together.
